Approximately 12.66% of Washington County residents do not have health insurance, higher than state (9.53%) and national (8.77%) rates.

Lack of health insurance is a primary barrier people accessing primary and specialty care face, as well as other health services. Along with a high rate of uninsured residents, the area also has a high rate of residents with publicly funded health coverage (45%), including 54.7% of children 18 and younger with Medicaid coverage. The inability to access services due to financial limitations often contributes to poor health outcomes.

Healthcare for everyone, regardless of their ability to pay, should be a right and not a privilege. Perhaps at one time in your life, YOU, or someone you know, needed help with healthcare expenses or had to make the choice to pay utility bills or medical care. Partner with Great Mines to break this hopelessness and create a new narrative for our patients. For those of you who have never encountered that situation, feel blessed and empowered to make an intentional decision to help those who need it the most.
