We would like to welcome Dr. Nicholas Veenstra, a native to a small mining town in the northwest corner of Colorado.  He attended Metropolitan State University of Denver, Colorado where he earned his Bachelor of Chemistry in 2001.  While working full time in several jobs during his undergraduate degree, he was a tutor, construction worker and apartment manager near Five Points in Denver, Colorado.

Community involvement has always been Dr. Veenstra’s drive and passion from an early age.  He was involved in Key Club in high school.  Shortly out of college, as a general contractor and construction manager, he built over a dozen homes for low income families with a local housing authority in Colorado and donated his skills for no charge to many families through a local church.

After 10 years, he moved with his wife and children to go back to school and earned a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences in May of 2013.  In April of 2017, Dr. Veenstra completed his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree, at the top of his class with a 4.0 GPA, at Roseman University College of Dental Medicine in South Jordan, Utah.

As a second career, Dentistry continues to be a perfect fit because of the community service.  Dentistry offers the ability to give back, to help people out of pain and give them beautiful smiles again.  Great Mines Health Center of Potosi, Missouri was a terrific fit for Nick and his family.

He loves building projects, watching movies and outdoor activities such as biking, hiking and fishing with his wife, two boys and dachshund (weiner dog).  After visiting Missouri several times in 1995, just after he was married to his high school sweetheart, Rachel Veenstra, they dreamed of returning to live and provide service to underserved populations in rural Missouri and enjoy the friendliness and beauty of the area.
